OUR EXPERIENCES
Experience what a FARM FOR THE FUTURE on the edge of the Scottish Highlands looks, feels, and tastes like. Groups and individuals are warmly welcomed for e-bike and mountain bike tours, walking farm tours, and wildlife watching, including Scotland's iconic red squirrels. On-site, there is a farm-to-fork cafe, farm shop, 'wild style' camping, and visitor facilities. And an eco lodge sleeping up to 58.
ABOUT US
Our mission is to show how a farm that was no longer conventionally viable can be repeopled and rewilded. The farm is a family of collaborating enterprises owned by 50 members of our team and community. It supports over 10 nature-based enterprises and 40 jobs. Including a community supported market garden with 150 veg box subscribers, a wildlife-friendly flower farm, a field-to-fork cafe, farm shop, Scotland’s top-rated mountain bike trails and bike shop, a forest school kids nursery, wildlife-watching, an eco events venue, an eco-lodge and glamping/camping. The farm now supports over 10 nature-based enterprises, 40 jobs, 170 acres of rewilding land, and over 13 miles of public bike trails. Business winner in the “Nature of Scotland Awards” and VisitScotland’s inaugural Responsible Tourism Award.
OUR IMPACT
Nature and community are at the heart of everything we do. Owned and run by local people, we care about our visitors, our community, and our natural environment. The Croft is carbon neutral, thanks to a switch to a biomass heating system (using locally sourced wood), generating our own electricity through solar panels, and tree-planting. Our hill land is under a 'rewilding' regime, meaning that we let nature lead there, with minimal intervention. The farm is a chemical-free area with wildlife-friendly methods used for all food production. Wastewater from toilets and showers all goes into a wetland designed to clean the water while also providing habitat for wee beasties. We love our community! Comrie is an amazing village where there is always something going on, from live traditional music to sporting events. We play an active part in keeping this community spirit alive, contributing to many local initiatives, as well as being a mainstay of the local economy, injecting over 75% of our spending back into the local economy, through our intentional local buying policy.
