Serlachius Museums
OUR EXPERIENCES
Serlachius Museums offers a meeting place for art, stories, and friends who appreciate their high quality. In addition to art, history, and architecture, our guests enjoy good food and Serlacius Art Sauna experiences in a unique Finnish lakeland setting.
ABOUT US
Far out art with a historic heart! Serlachius’ paper mill owners began collecting art more than a hundred years ago. Today, Serlachius Art Collection is one of the most prominent private art collections in Finland and the Nordic countries. Besides that, we offer an extensive contemporary art exhibition programme.
OUR IMPACT
At Serlachius, sustainability is central to all we do. Environmentally, we use geothermal heating and cooling, solar panels, water-saving systems, and recycle most waste while avoiding plastic in packaging.
Culturally, we protect heritage through maintaining collections, hosting exhibitions, supporting schools, artist residencies, and community events for seniors and children.
Our exhibitions highlight themes like climate change, biodiversity, and social justice, encouraging visitors to engage and reflect. We also share sustainable practices internationally through press visits.
To promote sustainable tourism, we offer low-emission transport options such as shuttle buses, Train & Taxi services, and lend bikes and rowing boats.
Our commitment is recognized by ISO 14001 certification and the Sustainable Travel Finland label, helping us reduce resource use and influence regional tourism.
