Haltia Lake Lodge
OUR EXPERIENCES
At Haltia Lake Lodge, we offer eco-luxury accommodation and nature-based experiences in Finland’s Nuuksio National Park. Travelers can unwind in sustainable lodges or glamping tents and take part in curated activities such as snowshoe hikes, forest yoga, and team-building challenges. Our mission is to reconnect people with nature through immersive, low-impact experiences.
ABOUT US
Haltia Lake Lodge is a sustainable nature hotel located in Nuuksio National Park, just 30 minutes from Helsinki. Our mission is to inspire and empower people to reconnect with nature while making responsible travel choices. Through eco-conscious hospitality, locally sourced cuisine, and immersive outdoor experiences, we offer guests a meaningful escape that supports both environmental conservation and community wellbeing.
OUR IMPACT
Haltia Lake Lodge is a leader in regenerative tourism, operating entirely on 100% wind energy and working toward carbon neutrality. We restore peatlands in Nuuksio National Park, support healthy lake ecosystems through maintenance fishing, and source sustainable, local ingredients for our bistro. Guests can join conservation holidays in partnership with Metsähallitus and the Finnish Nature Centre Haltia, helping manage meadows and remove invasive species. Our facilities are built using recycled and ecologically sourced materials, with circular economy principles at the core. We track and aim to reduce energy and water use by 5% annually, supported by comprehensive recycling and on-site composting.
We engage the local community by sourcing from nearby producers and involving students—including those with special needs—in building insect hotels and birdhouses. As the first Nordic hotel to join the “Hotels for Trees” initiative, we’ve helped plant over 700 trees globally. Guests are invited to take part in educational programs, guided nature tours, and hands-on conservation activities. Our efforts are recognized with Green Key certification (renewed in 2024), Sustainable Travel Finland accreditation, and the “Best Sustainable Hotel: Europe” award in 2022. Tangible results include consistent energy and water reductions, restoration of three peatland sites, and meaningful local partnerships.
