ABOUT US
Granö Beckasin is a hotel and eco destination set in the deep forests of northern Sweden. Our mission is to help our rural village thrive—not by chasing profit, but by increasing the number of residents, entrepreneurs, and opportunities in our community.
The business was founded in 2007 by a group of local friends. People were moving away for work, and the village school was at risk of closing. We started Granö Beckasin to create jobs, save the school, and bring pride and energy back to the area.
From the beginning, we chose to build an eco-premium destination—high-quality, sustainable nature tourism rooted in the local environment. We share what’s already here: the forests, the river, the wildlife, the peace and silence, and the unique eight-season year. Guests can enjoy local, organic food, outdoor adventures, and a lifestyle deeply connected to nature.
Our goal is also to support the people who live and work here—by creating meaningful jobs, helping small businesses grow, and building strong local networks. Sustainability is always at the heart of what we do.
A visit to Granö Beckasin is more than just a stay. It’s a way to experience something real—and to be part of something bigger.
OUR IMPACT
Today, the village school is still here. Granö and other small villages in the are are now places families move to. Small business entrepreneurship is thriving in the area, and people are renovating and fixing houses. We are still working closely with farmers, hunters, bakers and other small businesses. We are still providing jobs and a meeting hub for networks and entrepreneurs.
When you choose to visit us for a few days and partake in our rural lifestyle, you make a difference. A visit to Granö Beckasin is an experience. But it’s really much bigger than an experience.
