ABOUT US
The Raqchi Experiential Tourism Association – Raíces Inca, led by twelve families and empowered women, preserves local culture through community tourism. Travelers explore the remarkable Temple of the God Wiracocha, an exceptional Inca structure from Pachacutec’s era, distinguished by its unique architecture and long-standing role as a sacred site for rituals and pilgrimages.
OUR IMPACT
The Raqchi Community integrates sustainable practices into tourism by promoting Andean culture, protecting the cultural landscape, and creating meaningful experiences that help travelers understand the deep connection between Andean people and their territory. This commitment is reflected in every activity they offer, which emphasizes respect for tradition, heritage, and the environment. The organization is led primarily by women, who serve as the driving force and guiding voices of the community. Their leadership strengthens initiatives focused on the historical and archaeological richness of the area, especially the Temple of Wiracocha, one of the most significant Inca sites. Through their work, they also emphasize the importance of honoring the natural world and caring for the Pachamama, reminding visitors of the ongoing responsibility to preserve this invaluable Inca legacy. By engaging with the community, travelers gain insight into a living culture that continues to protect its roots, its land, and its ancestral wisdom.
