OUR EXPERIENCES
Royal Djurgården Visitor Center is the central gateway to Stockholm’s royal island, where culture, nature, and history meet in a sustainably managed environment. Travelers experience everything from fossil‑free transport, curated walks, and seasonal gastronomy to exhibitions and insights that highlight Djurgården’s role as a world‑class showcase for sustainable tourism. By connecting 60+ attractions under shared values and UN‑aligned sustainability goals, we enable meaningful, low‑impact visits grounded in beauty, heritage, and stewardship.

ABOUT US
Royal Djurgården Visitor Center exists to help visitors experience Stockholm’s royal island as one living destination. We connect museums, gardens, food, nature and culture into a unified experience that is elegant, accessible and aligned with global sustainability goals. Our vision is to make Djurgården the world’s most welcoming cultural district for slow, meaningful and responsible travel.

OUR IMPACT
Royal Djurgården Visitor Center promotes sustainable tourism by connecting over 60 attractions through shared values and goals. Our impact comes from coordination—not control—as we guide travelers and partners toward accessible, environmentally responsible, and culturally inclusive practices.

We support a governance model where each actor stays independent while aligning with common sustainability standards. This leads to real outcomes like electric ferries, walkable routes, inclusive programming, and reduced waste.

We spotlight lesser-known voices, local stories, and overlooked venues. Our storytelling expands the visitor experience and encourages respectful, place-based tourism.

We promote low-impact visits, fossil-free transport, seasonal food, and guide visitors toward car-free paths and natural areas to reduce environmental impact.

Every interaction builds awareness. From visitor guidance to digital storytelling, we make sustainable travel more personal and easier to understand. In 2023, Djurgården earned the Green Destinations Platinum Award, meeting 94% of global sustainability criteria.
