OUR EXPERIENCES

Fort De Soto Park is a scenic, historic Pinellas County park known for its award-winning beaches, wildlife, and waterfront views. Amenities include a historic Spanish-American War fort and museum, paved trails, fishing piers, picnic areas, playgrounds, campgrounds, a dog beach, and boat launches. The park offers a mix of outdoor recreation, natural beauty, and local history in one destination. This park is managed by Pinellas County Parks & Conservation Resources Department.

Our mission is to maintain and protect the inherent value of natural, cultural, and recreational resources through access, education, and stewardship that enhances quality of life for our community and future generations.

IMPACT

Fort De Soto Park creates positive environmental impact by protecting more than 1,100 acres of coastal habitat through active conservation, wildlife protection, and habitat restoration while supporting high public use. Socially and culturally, the park provides affordable public access to beaches, recreation, and preserved historic resources, including its Spanish-American War fort and museum. Educational exhibits, interpretive signage, and public programs increase awareness of coastal ecosystems, conservation, and local history, reflecting a governance model centered on long-term public benefit.
