Boston Public Market
OUR EXPERIENCES
Boston Public Market is an indoor, year-round marketplace featuring over 30 New England artisans and food producers housed under one roof, offering fresh groceries, prepared meals, crafts, specialty items, and local libations. Residents and visitors alike can find seasonal, locally sourced food from Massachusetts and across New England, including fresh produce, eggs, dairy, seafood, baked goods, plants, specialty items, crafts, and prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Everything sold at the Market is produced or originates in New England, as the seasons allow.
The Market also serves as a civic, community-building space for farmers, fishers, food entrepreneurs, neighbors, customers, and partners. Year-round festivals, workshops, cooking classes, and tours create an engaging, educational experience and a vibrant environment for everyone.
ABOUT US
As a nonprofit organization, the Boston Public Market Association is a “Market on a Mission” to celebrate the bounty of New England, nurture and support food growers, producers, and entrepreneurs who face barriers to participating fully in the market, educate neighbors and visitors on the importance of a resilient and equitable food system, local sourcing, and nutrition, and cultivate a diverse community around food.
IMPACT
The Boston Public Market is more than a retail space—it is a mission-driven civic hub dedicated to supporting local entrepreneurs, creating equitable access to healthy food, and strengthening New England’s regional economy. The Market invests directly in farmers, fishers, food entrepreneurs, women-owned businesses, businesses of color, artisans, and small businesses that make the Market a destination. In addition to its 30 small regional vendors, the Market welcomes nearly 95 additional pop-up vendors annually. Market vendors source from more than 833 local businesses, 1,000 fishing boats, and support over 43,408 acres of New England farmland.
Beyond economic impact, the Market engages, educates, and facilitates community around the power of food through educational programming, partnerships, and events that foster appreciation for local food systems, entrepreneurship, and artisanal production. The Market also advances food access through participation in HIP and SNAP programs, facilitating $5,018,529 in HIP and SNAP sales of healthy, locally grown food, improving community health while supporting regional producers.
