Calanoa Amazonas is a boutique eco-lodge and private nature reserve in the Colombian Amazon near the Indigenous community of Mocagua. Calanoa Amazonas operates as a family-founded eco-lodge and private nature reserve integrated with the Calanoa Foundation, ensuring tourism revenue directly supports conservation and community initiatives. We protect rainforest habitat in one of the most biodiverse regions of the Colombian Amazon through small-scale, low-impact tourism and long-term stewardship.

Our team prioritizes local employment, working in partnership with the Indigenous community of Mocagua to create dignified economic opportunities aligned with cultural traditions. Through the Foundation, we support community-led projects including artisan programs, youth initiatives, cultural preservation efforts, and infrastructure improvements.

Each guest experience includes environmental interpretation and cultural exchange, increasing awareness of Amazonian biodiversity and Indigenous knowledge systems. By reinvesting in conservation, local livelihoods, and education, Calanoa demonstrates a regenerative tourism model that strengthens both ecosystem protection and community resilience.

What accommodations do you make for people living with disabilities?
We have one cabin with easier access via ramps; however, due to the remote rainforest location and river-based access, full wheelchair accessibility is not currently possible. Terrain throughout the property includes natural pathways, uneven surfaces, and boat transfers. We are happy to work directly with guests to assess individual needs and provide support where feasible.
