Calanoa Amazonas

Stay in a rainforest eco-lodge and private reserve where travel funds conservation and partnerships with the Mocagua community.

OUR EXPERIENCES

Calanoa Amazonas is a boutique eco-lodge and private nature reserve in the Colombian Amazon near the Indigenous community of Mocagua. Through our lodge and the Calanoa Foundation, we combine regenerative tourism with conservation, cultural preservation, and community-led initiatives. Travelers experience guided rainforest expeditions, wildlife observation, cultural exchanges, and opportunities to support local environmental and social projects while staying in architecturally unique, sustainability-focused cabins.

ABOUT US

Calanoa Amazonas is a family-founded eco-lodge and private nature reserve dedicated to protecting the Colombian Amazon through regenerative tourism, conservation, art, and community partnership. Our mission is to create meaningful connections between travelers, the rainforest, and Indigenous cultures while supporting long-term environmental and social sustainability through the work of the Calanoa Foundation. We envision a future where travel becomes a force for protection, cultural respect, and ecological regeneration.

IMPACT

Calanoa Amazonas operates as a family-founded eco-lodge and private nature reserve integrated with the Calanoa Foundation, ensuring tourism revenue directly supports conservation and community initiatives. We protect rainforest habitat in one of the most biodiverse regions of the Colombian Amazon through small-scale, low-impact tourism and long-term stewardship.

Our team prioritizes local employment, working in partnership with the Indigenous community of Mocagua to create dignified economic opportunities aligned with cultural traditions. Through the Foundation, we support community-led projects including artisan programs, youth initiatives, cultural preservation efforts, and infrastructure improvements.

Each guest experience includes environmental interpretation and cultural exchange, increasing awareness of Amazonian biodiversity and Indigenous knowledge systems. By reinvesting in conservation, local livelihoods, and education, Calanoa demonstrates a regenerative tourism model that strengthens both ecosystem protection and community resilience.
