ABOUT US

The Village connects visitors to local heritage while fostering education, stewardship, and community pride.

IMPACT

Heritage Village Museum & Park creates measurable public value by preserving irreplaceable historic resources, expanding access to local history, and strengthening community connection. Operated within Pinellas County government, the Village demonstrates strong governance through transparent public stewardship, professional museum standards, and long-term planning supported by an active nonprofit friends group. Socially and culturally, Heritage Village serves as a shared civic space where diverse stories are interpreted, recorded, and celebrated, including ongoing oral-history initiatives that capture community memory for permanent public access. Educationally, the Village delivers curriculum-aligned school programs, adult learning experiences, and hands-on interpretation that reach thousands of learners annually and support lifelong learning. Environmentally, Heritage Village models sustainable preservation by adapting historic buildings for continued use, reducing demolition waste, and promoting stewardship of cultural landscapes within a county park system. Collectively, these outcomes demonstrate lasting impact through preservation, education, community engagement, and responsible public stewardship.
