ABOUT US
Fundación César Manrique manages museums in Lanzarote highlighting César Manrique's legacy of integrating art, nature, and architecture. The Taro de Tahíche headquarters, his former home on 30,000 m² lava flow, exemplifies his ARTE-NATURALEZA proposal with 1,800 m² habitable space in volcanic bubbles, upper level inspired by traditional Lanzarote homes, and underground recreational areas. Remodeled for museum use while preserving original structure, it hosts permanent exhibitions. The Haría Casa-Museo recreates his intimate daily life and painting studio. The foundation promotes Manrique's vision of dialogue between building and nature.
This Impact Partner was shared by the Good Travel Institute as one of their Good Travel Experiences. Each Good Travel Experience is evaluated through a clear and recognised framework, ensuring measurable social, cultural, environmental, and economic benefits for local communities.
OUR IMPACT
The museums embody sustainable principles through architecture harmonizing modern design with Lanzarote's volcanic nature, preserving cultural/artistic heritage while promoting environmental respect and ecological awareness in tourism.
