ABOUT US

Gable House Inn is a historic eight-room lodging property in downtown Durango, Colorado, offering personalized hospitality, distinctive accommodations, and memorable guest experiences. Our mission is to preserve the character of this landmark home while providing exceptional service and a refined, welcoming alternative to a traditional hotel.

IMPACT

Gable House Inn supports Durango’s heritage, cultural community, and local economy through historic preservation, community partnerships, and sustainable practices. We preserve and operate a property listed on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places, keeping an important part of Durango’s architectural and social history in active use while sharing its story, including its years as Ochsner Hospital.

We support local events and cultural organizations, including Snowdown, the Durango Independent Film Festival, Durango Celtic Festival, Durango Bluegrass Meltdown, Music in the Mountains, and the Durango Cowboy Gathering, by offering discounted lodging and donating room nights and meeting space. We also host an annual free public ice cream social benefiting the Animas Museum.

We encourage guests to support locally owned restaurants, shops, guides, museums, and recreation businesses, helping keep visitor spending in the community. Our sustainability efforts include solar panels, EV charging, composting, water conservation, and Platinum Certification from the Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency (4CORE).
