Witchmark Distillery
OUR EXPERIENCES
Witchmark is one of the largest whisky distilleries in England. We are currently the highest B-Corp scoring distillery in England and 2nd highest in the UK. We are the only distillery we know of that create beautifully authentic gins and vodka directly through the whisky production process, essentially producing single malt gins and vodka as well as whisky. This is a totally unique and authentic experience unlike any other distillery tour.
ABOUT US
Witchmark Distillery is an independent English whisky producer with a clear ambition: to lead the way in crafting world-class spirits from the heart of England. Blending traditional techniques with modern sustainability, we create distinctive, authentic whiskies that reflect both place and purpose. Committed to quality at every stage, Witchmark sets a new benchmark for English whisky.
OUR IMPACT
Building a totally sustainable and ethically sound distillery was never a discussion or debate. It was either building it this way, or we don’t build it – period! This attitude to Witchmark has allowed us to produce a stunning distillery in the knowledge we are essentially creating a blueprint for ‘How to create a sustainable whisky distillery’ We have invested heavily in heat recovery technology that allows us to use gas sparingly. We only use bio-LPG which has a 40-50% lower carbon emission impact of fossil fuel. This is considerably more expensive than fossil fuel but again was not subject to debate. All our bottles are 100% recycled and our stoppers are plant extract. Any effluent we produce is taken to a local bio digester and converted into biofuel to be reused and our spent grains go to cattle feed. We are looking to implement solar power in the not-too-distant future and are looking into electrical vehicles. We aim to recruit locally and promote internal career progression. We also give a % of profits to charity per year and employ a diverse range of cultures within the distillery including English, Scottish, Indian, Ukrainian and Polish etc. Approx 40% of our business is female.
