ABOUT US
Gusbourne is a leading English sparkling wine producer, rooted in the Kent countryside, with a commitment to crafting world-class wines of precision and character. Our cellar door, The Nest, is the heart of our hospitality, a place where visitors connect with our vineyards, enjoy curated tastings and dining and experience our wines in the landscape that shapes them. Guided by meticulous attention to detail, sustainability and a deep sense of place, our mission is to create exceptional wines and unforgettable experiences that celebrate the best of English winemaking.
OUR IMPACT
The Nest creates positive impact across multiple dimensions. Socially and culturally, we act as a hub for Kent, partnering with local restaurants, hotels, artisans and events like the Appledore Flower Festival, ensuring that our success supports the wider community. Economically, The Nest contributes significantly to Gusbourne’s revenues while drawing visitors to the local area (nearly 16,000 visitors in 2024), many of whom travel internationally, boosting local tourism and hospitality businesses. Environmentally, we embed sustainability into every detail, from sourcing seasonal menus and local materials to composting waste and cultivating gardens from estate cuttings, creating a closed-loop model that enriches the land. Through education, our trained ambassadors offer guests insight into English viticulture, sustainability in practice and the craft of winemaking, ensuring that every visitor leaves more connected to place and better informed. Together, these actions make The Nest not just a visitor attraction, but a driver of sustainable, community-rooted growth. Additionally, the staff hired at The Nest is made up almost entirely of people from the local area.
